This essence applies to envy of another’s gifts or abilities. Envy of another can be productive if that energy is channeled into expressing one’s own potential and gifts in life. This emotion is negative when one sits back and stares enviously at another who is putting in the required effort and discipline to reap creative rewards. In that sense, suppressed envy is an “armchair” emotion that needs to be moved and expressed within one’s own creative realm.
